This is by far the best product that Bare Escentuals made. This product is made to give a base to your eyelids before applying eyeshadow. While eyeshadow tends to smear and leave a crease, this product will completely stop the smearing of the shadow. It enhances the color and will make it look as if you just applied it. Some foundations may help, but this product knocks it right into a flawless shine!
I used to use Mac’s eye paint as my ‘primer’ b/c my eye color fades over time during the day. But, after trying BE’s Prime Time Eyelid Primer, I am a true believer. This product works fabulously and even keeps my eyeliner from transferring. My eye color stays true and holds up without any problem all day long. It even takes a little extra effort to remove, which I am not at all complaining about. Worth every penny – and IMHO, very reasonably priced for the performance it delivers.
I have used this product for a while now and thought I should review it because I understand what the person who rated it 1 star and said it comes out clumpy is talking about. I did manage to buy a tube that was harder and clumpy and did not work nearly as well, but since that isn’t the standard tube I won’t review based on that one. Normally it’s very creamy and works wonders on your eye-makeup. Now I refuse to wear eye shadow without it! It makes the colors more vibrant and makes them last all day.
After reading other reviews, this product sounded perfect. I am a satisfied customer of many Bare Minerals products…but Prime Time eyelid primer came out in small lumps, was dry and difficult to spread. I use a good moisturizer, but this just didn’t work for me. I tried “just a tiny amount” (no coverage) “a little more” (some coverage) but after all was said and done, the coverage was not smooth, only spotty. I’m giving it one star, because, it did seem that my eye shawdow stayed on a bit longer…the eyeliner did not. This product lasted for about 1.5 to 2 months of daily use. It was great! The only trouble was that it ran out abruptly. I guess I should have known that the time to replace it was near, but I didn’t get one single clue that I was at the bitter end of the tube. One morning, I literally twisted the tube and it was all gone! I couldn’t even squeeze an “emergency drop” until I got a new one. So, the lesson is, BUY EXTRA TUBES and keep yourself stocked. It’s a great product.
